　　蘇維新醫(yī)生是角膜、眼表和屈光疾病醫(yī)生，擅長包括：各種角膜移植、人造角膜手術、激光矯視，以及可植入式隱形眼鏡等。蘇醫(yī)生在就讀眼科學士和碩士學位期間多次獲得成績，并在2002年眼理學研究生考試中獲得全級名的佳績。

　　他在獲得眼科碩士學位后，于2004年加入了聞名世界的印度金奈Sankara Nethralaya眼科醫(yī)院進行眼角膜和眼表疾病實習，并跟隨部門主管Dr Prema Padmanabhan和Dr G Sitalakshmi學習臨床醫(yī)學知識，同時在名師Dr Srinivas K Rao的指導下學習各類眼角膜手術技術。完成實習后，蘇醫(yī)生即在該院任職角膜和屈光部門的顧問長達11年之久。

　　Dr Bhaskar Srinivasan is a specialist in Ophthalmology. He has specialized in the treatment of cornel disease and refractive procedures including LASIK, Femtolasik, Intacs and Phakic iol (ICL). He is an expert in various kinds of corneal transplants and artificial cornea surgeries. He did his graduation from Mumbai University (India) and completed his Masters in ophthalmology (MS ophthalmology) from Pune University (India) in 2002 and graduated as the university topper that year.

　　He joined Sankara Nethralaya, a reputed and world renowned tertiary ophthalmic care hospital and did his fellowship in cornea and external diseases under the tutelage of the director cornea services Dr Prema Padmanabhan and the head of department Dr G Sitalakshmi and the rest of the faculty including eminent corneal surgeon Dr Srinivas K Rao. For post-fellowship, he joined there as a faculty and is currently employed there as senior consultant in the cornea department of the hospital.

　　His special interest includes ocular surface diseases and their management including various kinds of keratoprosthesis to help restore vision in bilaterally blind patients. He is part of team, which is involved in corneal stem cell treatment.

　　He was trained by Professor Dr Giancarlo Falcinelli about the nuances of the specialized Modifed Osteo Odonto Keratoprosthesis surgery (tooth in the eye) to restore vision in severely damaged eyes. He is a part of a team, which has done close to 100 such surgeries over the last decade. He spent time with Professor Jose temprano understanding the nuances of the temprano keratoprosthesis (Osteo keratoprosthesis) another option for an artificial cornea.

　　He spent some time as an observer with Dr Stephen Phlugfelder and expert on dry eye and ocular surface disease and Dr James Aquevella who specializes in pediatric Boston keratoprosthesis and utilized the knowledge gained to improve patient care back in Sankara Nethralaya.

　　He is working along Dr James Chodosh in designing a low cost variant of the Boston keratoprosthesis.

　　He has a large number of publications related to chemical injury, Stevens Johnson syndrome and keratoprosthesis in national and international journals.

　　He was the organizing secretary of OSKON (ocular surface and keratoprosthesis ) conference conducted in 2012 and 2015 which was a unique conference dedicated specifically to the field of ocular surface which has now become a super specialty by itself.

　　He is well versed in various kinds of corneal transplants penetrating keratoplasty, anterior lamellar keratoplasty, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, Descemets stripping endothelial keratoplasty, Femtosecond laser assisted penetrating and lamellar keratoplasty. His special interest is in pediatric keratoplasty. He is also well versed in managing all kinds of ocular surface tumors.

　　He has been invited as a faculty in various national and international meeting. He is a passionate teacher and is actively involved in the cornea fellowship program at his hospital.

　　He is passionate about preventing avoidable blindness due to chemical injury and in association with Rotary international. Sankara Nethralaya has come out with a public awareness video regarding the common causes of chemical injury, the measures to prevent the same and treatment options available for the unfortunate victims. He has also participated in other television shows to educate the general public about eye diseases and refractive surgery options.
